In a thrilling bidding war, the IPL media rights were grabbed by star for a butt numbing 23,575 crore, crores for the 2023- 2027 cycle, which includes 118 crores per match and close to 3 crores per over, whereas viacom won the digital rights for rs 1,057 crore. The collective amount, including the digital rights is humongous 48,390 crore
The bidding stopped at 6 pm on June 14 2022 and package C has 98 games for five years in non-exclusive digital category. There are 18 in the first two seasons followed by 20 in the next two and 24 in the final season.
