After a horribly one sided T20 series, Sri Lanka and Australia square off in a rather unnecessary ODI series that begins in a couple of days. The format isn’t novel to both teams, but the hosts in particular would want to register a series win under their belt going into the all important test series.
Match Preview
While the Aussies are on the brink of their first T20 series whitewash in the emerald isle, they would want an encore in the ODI series as well. They have been terrific with both bat and ball and come the first ODI, they would want to beat Sri Lanka in their own den in this format too. Sri Lanka have questions more than answers and a quick fix is needed ahead of the series.
Team Preview
Sri Lanka, who have been struggling across formats ever since the retirement of their stalwarts, somehow need to make a comeback here. They have called back Bhanuka Rajapkasa and would want him, Asalanka, Gunathilaka and particularly Dhanajaya De Silva, who is also making a comeback to prevent the visitors from another series win.
Along with Chandimal, Asitha Fernando and Niroshan Dickwella, who also return, Sri Lanka have roped in under 19 skipper Dunith Vellalge and it’s a good time to throw him into the deep end.
The Aussies though, are more or less settled with Marnus Labuschagne and Pat Cummins returning to the side. Cummins, who had a rather mixed IPL is expected to lead the bowling attack after Mitchell Starc has been ruled out due to a finger injury. Leg spinner Mitchell Swepson has also been included in the side and in the absence of Adam Zampa, he will hold the key in the sub continent.
Match Prediction
Australia, who hold all the aces after winning the second T20 will look to make it 3-0 as Sri Lanka are woefully short on confidence after conceding the first two games, hence we predict Australia to win the third T20.

Australia is predicted to be the winner of this match and the series as well. Readers have look on the betting tips on individuals players performances,
Steve Smith – According to our prediction, Smith will be the highest run scorer in the match as the format suits him and a big one is needed from the former Aussie skipper

Josh Hazelwood – We predict Hazelwood to be the top wicket taker in the game as he has been terrific in the T20 series as well.
Key Players
Glenn Maxwell – Maxwell holds the key for Australia in the middle order as the visitors look to score briskly in the middle order and post those big totals for them.
Niroshan Dickwella – The feisty southpaw holds the key for the hosts as they are banking on him to score those runs, especially during a steep run chase for them.
Wanindu Hasaranga – The less said about the importance of the man, for the hosts, the better.
